This highlighting is uniformly bright (although not as bright as the brightest parts of the first highlight), and additionally puts a brighter outline around the line.

The other highlight occurs when you click on a line. A line that has been highlighted in this way is not selected. This highlight starts dark at the top of the line and ends bright at the bottom of the line. When you mouse-over a line in the list, the line highlights so that you know where you are pointing. There are two kinds of "highlighting" that occur in the list of games (although this may be hard to see in a list of one game, such as your lan game list would presumably be). I have never joined a lan game in Civ VI, but I assume that it is like joining an internet game. Once all the players are in the game and everyone has clicked "ready" the game will begin. If not, then you can send them an invite to join your game through your Steam friend's list. They may be able to join your game from the multiplayer lobby (by selecting the same game type that you created). The final step is to get the other player(s) into your game. You will be taken to a staging room to configure the number of civs in the game and to assign those civs to be player- or AI-controlled. Once you are satisfied with the settings, click "Confirm Settings" to proceed. The you would click "Create Game" actually create the game.Īfter you have selected the type of game you want to create, you will be given the opportunity to set the details of the game, such as rules set, map type and size, and so on. For example, since both of you are in the same house, and thus presumably on the same network, you might click "Local Network" if you want to create a local network game. Which one you would choose would depend upon the type of game you want to create. After clicking "Multiplayer" the next step is to select one of the next options that are presented to you.
